These earrings feature a great combination of the Claddagh and Trinity Knot in Sterling Silver and 10K Gold. The Trinity Knot is the most basic of Celtic knots and is thought to have symbolized a trio of gods; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It also includes the Claddagh symbol which originated by Richard Joyce, a Galway seafarer kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery in North Africa where he learned the art of a goldsmith. When he was released, nothing could keep him from his beloved Galway where he returned to become a master goldsmith and where he created the Claddagh. For centuries this symbol has been used in Irish Jewelry representing love and Friendship. Packaged in a beautiful Keepsake box these earrings make a great gift or addition to your jewelry collection.
