A beautiful homage to Ireland, this Connemara Marble Claddagh Necklace makes a gorgeous gift to anyone who holds Ireland close to heart. The necklace is made from pure sterling silver hallmarked at Dublin Castle to ensure authenticity and quality and features inlaid Connemara marble and marcasite crystals for extra sparkle. The marble itself comes from the Joyce family mine in the west of Ireland, allowing whoever wears it to take a little piece of Ireland with them wherever they travel.

The Claddagn ring design itself is thought to date at least as far back as the 16th century. One legend says that a mariner from the Claddagh region of County Galway was captured, leaving a lost love behind. He was sold into slavery to a goldsmith, and, upon being released by royal decree some years later, returned to Galway and fashioned the first Claddagh ring for his love. The hands symbolize friendship, the heart signifies love, and the crown represents unequivocal loyalty.
