Shanore Irish Jewelry
Founded in 1979 by Frank Maher, ShanOre Jewelry has grown into one of Ireland’s premier jewelry manufacturers, renowned for their hand craftsmanship and dedication to sophisticated Irish designs.
ShanOre Celtic Jewelry Made in Ireland
ShanOre is an award-winning company that prides itself on the range of Celtic jewelry designs, from Claddagh engagement rings to Celtic knot pendants and earrings, that fuse the traditional and the modern to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece of Irish jewelry. Each design is delicately handmade after many hours of design, prototyping and testing. ShanOre’s sophisticated stylings all contain a significant dollop of Irish charm, making it the perfect gift for a special someone who wants to pay homage to their Irish heritage. ShanOre offers a wide range of styles, from traditional Celtic styles to contemporary engagement rings and modern bracelets.
Celtic Engagement Rings
Their lines of Celtic diamond engagement rings and diamond wedding rings have been two of the company’s most popular lines since the early 1990s, when they were introduced in response to consumer demand, and they haven’t let up since.
Celtic Birthstone Jewelry
ShanOre Celtic Birthstone Collection features a selection of Claddagh rings and pendant necklaces with each of the 12 birthstones for a personalized gift no matter when you’re birthday falls. Rings—especially the perennial favorite, the Claddagh ring—have been a mainstay for the company since its inception, but as time went on, demand grew for earrings and pendants, as well. Choose your favourite one:
Claddagh Birthstone Ring June: Alexandrite- this beautifully crafted ring comes with an ornate Claddagh- a traditional Irish symbol that stands for love, loyalty, and friendship
Rhodium Claddagh Birthstone Pendant - August- this peridot heart pendant makes a charming gift for your loved ones.
Silver Claddagh Ring September Birthstone- this eye catching rich blue claddagh heart ring makes an ideal gift for birthday. Sapphire is a timeless, breathtaking gemstone that is associated with purity and wisdom.
ShanOre Irish Charm Bracelets
In recent years, when charm beads became a popular worldwide jewelry trend, ShanOre introduced Tara’s Diary, a collection of charm beads that allows the wearer fully express their unique connection to Ireland. Naturally, many of the beads feature intricate Celtic triskele spirals and vibrant shamrocks, but the collection goes beyond the traditional images associated with Irish jewelry. Some beads represent places in the Emerald Isle, like Dublin’s iconic Ha’Penny Bridge, the basalt columns of Giant’s Causeway, or the neolithic passage tomb of Newgrange. Others display images of various hobbies or interests, like Irish music and dance—one of the beads is even modeled after a tiny cheeky pint of stout. Naturally, the company’s offerings have expanded to reflect the changing trends, and many pieces incorporate both silver and gold.
Swarovski Irish Jewelry
They introduced Swarovski crystals in many of their silver pieces in 2015 and 2016, and the sparkling additions have been an immensely popular update to the classic Celtic images and designs. Always ahead of the curve and anticipating their customers’ wishes, ShanOre typically launches two new collections per year. In 2018, they unveiled the Celtic Initials necklace collection, which offers crystal-encrusted initial pendants adorned with delicate Celtic trinity knots for a personalized token of the wearer’s Irish heritage. Take for example, this stunning Claddagh Trinity Pendant Embellished With Swarovski Crystals whose design combines the trinity Knot and Claddagh Symbols.
The second new collection this year is the Princess collection, which blends new and old by paying tribute to classic Celtic designs like the trinity knot and the crowned heart, and Swarovski crystals and the contrast of sterling silver and rose gold make the pieces fresh and modern.
How ShanOre Jewelry Is Made
Family-owned and operated since the beginning, ShanOre is rigorous about the lifespan of a piece of jewelry, which undergoes rigorous reviews to ensure quality every step of the way. Once a design is agreed upon, a computer model is build, sometimes augmented by a wax model in the traditional way of crafting jewelry. The model is used to create the mold, and once the pieces have been cast in that mold, the stones are individually set by hand. Each piece undergoes polishing and rhodium plating to ensure a lasting shine, before being sent to Ireland’s official government certification office for quality control, where it will receive a hallmark stamp, without which their sale would be illegal! All hallmarked pieces are brought back to the workshop and packed into ShanOre’s luxury gift boxes, in which they will be sent to their new homes.
