Basket weaving has always been integral to rural cultures, and particularly Ireland.
Inspired by traditional Irish wickerwork patterns, the basket weave design on Belleek’s Kylemore Pitcher is a nod to the heritage of Ireland’s countryside and historic agricultural economy. It is also one of Belleek’s oldest and best-known design motifs, first created in the 1880s.
The shamrock detailing is hand painted by today’s artisans, adding a creative and unique flair to each pitcher.
For anyone who wishes to add to their existing Belleek Shamrock collection, or who’s looking for a statement piece for a friendly gathering, the Kylemore Pitcher is an ideal choice.
Founded in 1849, Belleek is the oldest fine china pottery in Ireland and has been producing distinguished Parian porcelain since 1863. Located in County Fermanagh, Belleek was a favorite of Irish and British nobility, including Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
