Distinct hand weaving and hand knitting techniques originated in the west of Ireland in the 17th century and have since become a popular part of Irish giftware, whether displayed on Aran sweaters or embossed on these Galway Weave mugs.
Inspired by these distinguished and rustic patterns, Belleek’s designers have embossed the Galway weave in a simple band around the mug, accented with a twisted yarn motif at the top and bottom of the band.
The beautiful Parian porcelain is a cream color and designed to resemble the sculptural form of marble from the island of Paros, from where it gets its name.
The 10oz mugs are dishwasher safe and can be put n the microwave to warm up whatever you’re drinking.
Located in County Fermanagh, Belleek was founded in 1846 and is Ireland’s oldest fine china pottery. Since the company began producing exquisite Parian porcelain in 1863, it became a favorite of British and Irish nobility, including Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
