Play a riveting game of rugby with family and friends with some Irish pride with this Green Shamrock Irish Rugby Ball!
This small-sized ball is a compact version of a traditional rugby ball, complete with the conventional elongated, ellipsoid-like shape. First appearing in the late 1840s in Rugby, England, rugby balls were made by Richard Lindon and William Gilbert, who are known as rugby ball pioneers.
They made the first rugby balls out of hand-stitched pigs’ bladders and leather casings. These original balls also varied in size depending upon the bladder sizes and were more plum-shaped than oval.
Over time, however, the design of rugby balls became more standardized and is now identified by its distinct oval shape.
Giving this ball a festively Irish touch is the vibrant dark and light green color scheme that decorates it from top to bottom, with “IRELAND” printed across in white block letters, along with an Ireland Rugby ball logo below.
Make this fun ball a souvenir for an athletic child!
