St Patrick's Day Gifts
We all know his name, but who exactly was the famous St Patrick? Born in the 5th century in Roman Britain, he was kidnapped and enslaved, ending up in Ireland. Now, he’s the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland often believed to be the bringer of Christianity to the country. Every March 17th (the day he died), the Irish descendants, and general bon vivants across the globe celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Originally a religious feast day, the holiday is now an international festival celebrating Irish culture with giant parades, dancing, corned beef and cabbage, beer and the color green.

The shamrock has a long history with Ireland that goes as far back to ancient Celtic times. Well before the time of Saint Patrick, Druids believed that the flower’s three leaves represented the three forms of the Triple Goddess: mother, maiden, and wise woman. They also believed the shamrock could ward off evil spirits and danger. Celts also revered the three-leaf design of the flower because the number three had significance in Celtic culture. In later years, the shamrock was associated with Saint Patrick because he used the flower’s three heart-shaped leaves to explain the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of the Holy Trinity in Christianity.
Irish Flag Gifts
On a spirited day like St. Patrick’s Day, proudly displaying the national Irish flag is a must, whether it be with an actual flag or items like the Irish Adult tri-color Cap. Also known as the Irish tricolor, the national flag of the Republic of Ireland is marked by its three vertical stripes of Kelly green, white, and orange. This flag was flown for the first time on March 7, 1848, in Waterford City by Thomas Francis Meagher during the Young Irelander Rebellion of 1848. The flag was a gift to Meagher from a group of French women who supported the Irish efforts and symbolized hope for unity between the Protestants and Roman Catholics. The green stripe at the hoist represents the Roman Catholics, the orange stripe at the opposite end symbolizes the Protestant minority, and the white stripe in the middle signifies the lasting peace between the two denominations.
St Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Gifts
One amusing character that is commonly seen around St. Paddy’s day on T-shirts, socks, and trinkets is the Irish leprechaun. A must-have for St. Patrick's Day is considered to be the iconic Leprechaun Hat and Ireland Leprechaun T-Shirt. Leprechauns are naughty little beings from Irish fairy tales that make shoes and gather gold coins in pots that they hide at the end of a rainbow. According to folklore, if a person captures the leprechaun, then the leprechaun will grant his captor three wishes if he sets him free.

Marked by its grand black entrance gate that displays the Guinness name and harp logo in radiant gold lettering, the antique-style light posts that flank the gate, and the weathered brick road leading to the gate, St. James’s Gate Brewery is a historic landmark in Ireland that many visit today.
